Rant: Dom Brown

brownmissYeah, the Phillies won last night.  But I can’t get past Dom Brown.  This dude is the poster-guy for the 2014 Philadelphia Phillies season and the line of crap that Ruben keeps feeding Phillies fans “the players need to play up to their potential.”

This morning I have to hear Ruben say the Dom hasn’t played up to the level of talent that we expect of him and that the team has to be patient with a player with his ability? Apparently, aside from two anomaly months last year, this is his ability. He’s a below-average hitter with below-average power for a corner outfielder, and a horrendous defensive player.

Be patient? It’s August and he’s in his second year.  I’m over being patient.  How about the Phillies cut down beer prices while we’re being patient and Brown continues to play as if it’s his first year playing the game of baseball? I have to pay $12, $14 with a tip, for a beer to watch Dom Brown learn how to play up to his ability? Isn’t that what the minors are for?

I spent $10 for parking, $28 on two beers, and $5 on peanuts.  That’s $42 in addition to the $47 that I paid for my ticket.  $87 for one person to go to the ballpark and he wants me to be patient while Dom Brown learns how to CATCH A BALL that hits his glove or not slide off a base?

102113_Dom-Brown-Cowboys_600Ryne Sandberg had to sit down with this guy because he’s upset that he’s not playing everyday? He claims that he’s dropping balls because he’s not playing everyday?  He should be thankful that he gets to start any games at all at the major league level.  The guy is a total disaster in the outfield.  He makes Pete Incaviglia look like a Golden Glove outfielder.  I’m so over this dude.  Maybe a change of scenery will help him, but I can’t wait for him and his Cowboy jerseys to leave town.

rant over.

Where the hell is Maikel  Franco?
