CHARITY EVENT HEADS UP: Dinner with PALS

ALS is a devastating disease we all know. We all may not know of the toll it takes not only on those suffering with it, but also their loved ones. It’s both emotionally and financially stressful. These families are often burdened with extremely high medical bills as well as the additional costs of things like wheelchairs and stair-lifts.

Because of the disease and the financial burdens, simple things like going out and bonding over a nice meal become almost impossible.

That’s where Dinner with PALS (Persons with ALS) comes in.

Dinner with PALS is a brilliant event hosted by WILL BYOB  on May 31st, where persons with ALS and their family enjoy a free night out to enjoy and upscale meal modified in a way to make it easier for people with dysphagia (difficulty swallowing) to swallow.

It’s an amazing event. How do they pay for this free meal? That’s where we help out.

WILL BYOB is hosting a sponsor dinner on Thursday May 25th. What’s the sponsor dinner? It’s a prix fixe 4-course chef’s tasting menu, and provides a similar dinner to the one for ALS patients and family members on May 31st. The money raised from sponsor dinner will go to fund the free dinner for the ALS patients and families on the 31st.

You get great food AND your cost of dinner goes to a great cause. Win Win! Tickets for the sponsor dinner are $200 a head. It ain’t cheap, but if you got it there ain’t a much better way to spend. And, they even do installments of $50. All additional proceeds will go to the Penn Comprehensive ALS Center.

Help if you can. Spread the word.
