JAWNVILLE PICKS FOR BEER WEEK 2017

BEER WEEK IS HERE! This is the most wonderful time of the year no matter what Andy Williams says.

Screw the pressures of buying gifts, monetary stress, and family issues. THIS IS A WEEK OF DRINKING BEER. It doesn’t get much better than this. The only thing that could make this glorious week in Philly better is if the NFL Draft was happening during Beer Week.

Philly’s Beer Week is the oldest and largest in the country. The events seem endless and it can be difficult to scour through all the events to see what you should attend. That’s where our alcoholic-living-in-mom’s-basement-staff comes in. We drink and we have free time.

Without further adieu, the Jawnville Beer Week 2017 Picks to ensure that you drink great beers and have a blast, even if you can only make it out for one night due to the your inconsiderate boss, nagging spouse, or whining kids.

MIKKELLER TAP AND CAN TAKEOVER WITH ARTIST KEITH SHORE at MEMPHIS TAPROOM

We stumbled onto Mikkeller while doing our Best Bars of San Francisco blog piece. This Danish brewery does some of the most interesting and complex brews you’ve ever tasted and they are not easy to get your hands on in Philadelphia. They do have a tasting room in San Francisco, but we’re pretty sure that’s the only North American location.

Mikkeller will have drafts and cans available with a limited edition commemorative brew.

These are guys who do the Geek Brunch Weasel Imperial Stout which is brewed with one of the world’s most expensive coffees, made from droppings of weasel-like civetcats. The fussy Southeast Asian animals only eat the best and ripest coffee berries.Enzymes in their digestive system help to break down the bean. Workers collect the bean-containing droppings for Civet or Weasel Coffee.

This event is at the top of our list.

There you have it. We feel these events guarantee you a fun time filled with great beers whether you hit all the events or just one. We recommend taking a long at the complete list of Philly Beer Week Events, if you have a chance, to find even more events or maybe some closer to your home.

BEER WEEK IS HERE. GET OUT AND DRINK SOME BEERS!
